Poor PoetAs candor beckons verse from muse's ken, to write is to explore both grief and mirth. Would not the poet drag his battered pen to lie beside the blood of sonnet's birth? What joy to know a poem so beguiles and brings a pleasured moment, brief but sweet, to one whose hands hold, for a peaceful while, words felt from deep within the heart's retreat. And what of need to share the burdened bruise of sorrow known beyond all reason's reign? The poet sieves his grief through ink's diffuse to trace a tale of pure and poignant pain. Poor poet can no more surcease to write, than morning stay and day refuse the night. Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

indeed. . . and in those explorations of the heart and of the soul. . . the poet finds. . . himself. . . thank you Claire. . . ------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Sven, thank you. I agree. What poet has not discovered truths about him or herself while writing? Self expression is one of the best ways to attain heightened self awareness. Doreen, thanks very much. A curse, indeed. You seem to be putting yours to awfully good use, though. Keep it up, dear poet. (o: suthern, many thanks to you. I'm glad you enjoyed this little sonnet and so nice of you to take the time to let me know. Poetry is very much the language of the soul as you have eloquently written. "I am not now that which I have been." |

Claire, Wonderfully said. It is with his pen that the true poet reveals the essence of his soul. I enjoyed this very much! Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Vandana, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this. Temptress, much obliged to have this placed in your library. Thanks for including me. (o: Julian, thanks very much. I couldn't agree with you more. Lone Wolf, indeed it is. Sometimes writing can even reveal to oneself what was unknown before. Thanks for reading ~ so glad you enjoyed this one. Clair, its obvious you words were meant to be in sonnet form. I really enjoyed reading it. You always choose words with so much flavour in them.... must be the Irish in you. Parker |

Denise, thanks very much. I am actually new to sonnet writing. This is officially my "first." Bob, thank you. I love knowing with which lines different readers connect. Joyce, amen. Sometimes we write through the pain, yes? Thanks very much for reading. Parker, it must be. Thank you, dear. Sunshine, indeed. It is in the telling, always, isn't it? Thank you so much for reading with an open heart. Liz, my thanks. Coming from such a prolific writer, I am quite pleased to know that you read and enjoyed this piece. *sigh* Yep. Tonight on The Library, we have Meadownmuse and this wonderful poem. I sure miss this poet, and love this poem. Don't gain my affections then cover my eyes. Don't sweep me off my feet then fail to catch me before I hit the floor. |
