Loving Again The days are short and turning fast The winds are blowing free But now and then my mind goes back To days that used to be A blooming rosebud on the vine A fragrance sweet and soft The starlit nights of dance and wine The dreams that stayed aloft The years then passed to hardship’s plight Awaking in the dawn The silver moon and starlit night Had somehow come and gone More carefree now the loving soul That trembled once in fear When all the joy the heart could hold Was captured in a tear But years have mellowed passion’s bliss And once where love was blind The magic in a tender kiss Is now a vintage wine Much deeper is the gazing eye More meaningful the word More tender is the lullaby Of morning’s waking bird More splendidly the swallow’s swoon More beautifully it flies More lustrous is the opal moon In starry summer skies Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 04-01-2001).] |

You are remarkable--your poetry is like japanese tea ceremony! Deceptively simple until one tries to pour those words perfectly! As always full of grace and artistry and quiet perfection. You've got a fan in me! |

Much deeper is the gazing eye More meaningful the word More tender is the lullaby Of morning’s waking bird More splendidly the swallow’s swoon More beautifully it flies More lustrous is the opal moon In starry summer skies Elizabeth...This is a marvelous poem. Made me think about the gifts of growing older in a way I had overlooked. Thank you. Mike [This message has been edited by Packratmike (edited 04-01-2001).] |

Liz, you and your words will always have a special place. . . thank you. . . ------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

There is no one who writes about feelings better than you Liz. This fairly sings! |

LizzieLady~ Perfection presents itself in this lovely verse. Such beauty in your heart wends it's way through your pen. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

You make me think of then and now... and all the losses that turned out to be blessings. *S* No response can equal serenity's... but I do concur! *S* Beautiful! |
