The city of masks whose grayness reflects indifference,-- Venice, you’re bound to suffer the fate of Atlantis. Thus, finding a small cozy place in one of your attics, a poet stands ready to capture the end of existence. Reflecting off the dark water the stars shine brightly. Dreams are redoubled here,-- the nights are wonderful. The poet inhales the air and writes, “Death seems doubtful,” exhales, pauses, and continues on, “...afterlife likely.” Check out my poetry here: http://www.unknownpoets.com/db/authors/master [This message has been edited by Master (edited 03-31-2001).] |

I enjoy reading your work, you know. Your poetic outlook is always quite refreshing and this is no exception. I believe you could tighten it up a bit by removing unnecessary commas, but that is, of course, a minor detail. The writing, itself, is something special. Were you in Venice when you wrote it, or was this from memory? Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
