And so along the way
A little pain must come
Wintered moments revisited
In the burst of spring
Except trust is a thing of the past
Save for what little might linger
Don't pat me on the head and rub my shoulders
Right now I don't want reassurance
Just oblivion
And I should have known better
To have ever come out of it
I'm not a light seeker
Because the lights..
Well they anger the eyes
And burn eager hands
Don't they?
Don't expect me to smile so much though
Although I can understand you,
I don't really have to be okay with it do I?
I may speak to you in peace,
But I beg
Please
Let me draw my thoughts out with my writing
Each small phrase you say
Trying to offer some small glint of your presence
Shreds me
But if you were to stop
Then the pain would be worse
And if I choke on another tear
I'll give up
Completely
And so you've had to cause a little pain,
You've really no right to complain,
But go on...I'll listen
But don't expect me to deal well with it.
