A collection of statues Have their place in my home In the garden they are placed Amongst the fairies who do roam Under trees they do stand They are keepers of this place With such beautiful expressions Upon each and every face At night they come alive Under the stars they are born Then how still they will become With the coming of the dawn A statue of Venus Stands under the tree fern in the shade As around her stony body Her lovely long hair cascades A terracotta urn hides amongst the greenery If I was an artist Oh, how I'd love to paint Some of this beautiful scenery But an artist I am not So with my pen I shall write And try, in detail, to describe my garden Which is void of black and white All the colors of the rainbow In my garden can be found The birds and the wind chimes Being the only things that make a sound The azure blue of the salvia is on display How such a lovely image Always brightens up my day Vivid reds and purples of the penstemon Arch over the birdbath under the tree As the birds fly down to bathe I see the sparrows, there are three So delicate are their wings As they take wing in flight Across the beautiful blue sky What a magnificent sight When they look down below Oh, what a breathtaking view How jealous am I As they soar through the skies As I admire their grace As they search for a better place But as a new day arrives Once again they take flight To my garden they will come With the rising of the sun How welcome they will be As I sit under a tree And observe nature's display With the arrival of a new day Suetang |

Suetang....This makes me think of a garden I know: "The tender crush of gravel throngs sighs and whispers down long paths and round a pool that waits within a cool, green basin." Gardens are such wonderful places. Thanks for sharing yours. Bob |
