She realises,
walking along the leaf-scattered, familiar
paths of home,

he really does involve the world.
Sunsets (fiery over clouds)
only remind her of cliffs
and hills – strange birds pecking
at insects

where he is.

She thinks:
I don’t give a damn about
logic or the past.
I’m failing here, whiting out like
a flash of sheet lightning.

All this agony over details and
what-ifs and it isn’t fairs. They’re pale too –
stain-glassed without any sun behind.

She realises, as buildings turn round her and
traffic is only filtered noise – she’s seeing the other hemisphere.

Journeys are long sometimes. Yet, she
won’t forget the sunlight on his floor. The way
cushions are haphazard in the den – there’s
magic in those.

Yes, she’s a willing pioneer.

...and I have found a lifetime can be lived in one moment...

You have left me speechless for the moment Lady K... I will come back in the morning and try to give you a more proper reply...
It is lovely though-- as is your usual..

Severn,

"Somewhere, beyond the sea,...and never again I'll go sailing." (from an American tune). Your poem is very good. Soft, muted...with a flash of anger. What's the word...pensive. Thank you.  Bob

Kamla--

Journeys are long sometimes, and one day you'll realize that the sun is always you, wherever you are.  This is a wonderful, and a heart spoken longing look at your thoughts.

S, I just love the feel of this, the hurt, angry touches, with the love behind. And the confusion. It is very well expressed.

This is so gently reflective, I could see, walking and thinking...very beautiful, but determined too. Miss you.

"I’m failing here, whiting out like

I like the double reference here to blindness and/or revelation?

In that respect, I suppose,we are all "willing pioneers".

Lovely, and so thought provoking.
Thank you.

does the journey ever end???

you ask. . . but you already know the answer. . .

I really liked this K, the thoughts are well placed. . .

Your creativity always comes through, you seem to have a way to make every word belong to you, even when I know, they are meant for me. Thank you for giving them to me.

A wistful and strikingly visual 'journey,' Kamla ... I was especially drawn in by the den with the haphazard pillows ... quite a vivid image!

I hope this willing pioneer will again venture forth into territories halfway round the world. Next time, though, it will be like coming home.
Stay sweet, my dear Kamla
