(My Muse - resurrected - has come to my rescue - with deft brief - sure cuts - and equally brief additions - see what has been done below)

Déjà Vu

Time, Déjà vu
Where or when
I’d always thought
Time pulled out fast
Like TP 'neath cat's paw,
Now I wonder
Does it

When considered
Rationally
You weren’t here for me
In ’61 or ‘90
I didn’t know you then
No doubt you thought too
“Where was he”
But somehow we’re
Together
At the beginning
Of a new millennium

Your dream
My dream
Closing in on each other
As a jigsaw puzzle
Not some 5000 piece
More simple
Piece to peace
Take one look
“Ah – Yes – Here”
It wasn’t like this
Before
These are
“new memories”
It doesn’t make sense
It makes perfect sense

How many chances
Does God give
To get it right
How many ‘right’ chances
Are there

When you know it’s right
You hold on tight

It is just a matter of
Dimensions
As Rod Searling
Makes his music weird

Ask me now
Ask me now on this
Daliesque plane

Now you’ve flown us
To new realities
Now our pieces fit
And our peace fits
I see your eyes sparkle
And your smile warms
Now your arms clasp
Did this just begin
No
It goes back
Before the end of the High School
Beginning of us
Time has no meaning
Mapping
New lives,
We are now,
We are real
We are love
We are us

The first duty of love is to listen.

Oh Wilfred, how I would like to meet your muse...I need help, confusion reigns, I meet myself when I start again...

I so enjoyed this....

how fortunate your muse has your pen to work with....

share her, would you?

your free verse is a fine write, Wilfred.
