Take Me Back the hills are calling me the piper’s trill stretches the sea the birds are there, singing for me “hie again…, come home…, Karilea” and it is to a time remote I flow to a distance of forever so long ago where my love still awaits, ‘tis so calling soft my name in twilight’s glow this plea, from some origin in me deep allows me daydream, but to gather no sleep lifts me high to fly among moon’s beam to search the sound of my lover’s dream and in this wealth of my mind’s eye descry emerald meadows under turquoise sky hear the call of the grassland’s birds long ago this land of fantasy is heard it wants to come, and take me back to that time when our love was fresh and you stood tall in the twilight’s gleam the sight of which caught my breath this strain, this pull, this tug at my heart this love, your love, did not depart ‘tho centuries now separate the you from me I still hear, soft, your call, “Karilea…” come my love, come cross the seas come and take me back with thee… Karilea |

Ditto Marge's comment. A wonderful write Karilea. Oh, how I loved these lines: "this plea, from some origin in me deep allows me daydream, but to gather no sleep lifts me high to fly among moon’s beam to search the sound of my lover’s dream" ~*Thank you for posting this *~ ~*~ I write ~ Therefore I am ~*~ |
