I walk along the dock About a foot above The murky water of the river Watching the ducks play The water is calm this afternoon I can see the hidden current Slowly moving beneath the surface It's rhythm is soothing to me On the opposite bank Families walk along The winding river trail Enjoying the warm sun I sit on the dock In silent solitude Another family passes by On the trail above me In the distance beyond I can hear the baseball game Being played a few blocks away Cheers are carried on the breeze This park on the riverfront Has always been my refuge Surrounded by towering trees Colorful flowers and ducks I feel at peace here In quiet communion with nature An escape within the city Serving as my private sanctuary I look up at the clouds Picturing my mother in heaven I say a prayer for her Knowing she is home with the Lord My thoughts turn to my spiritual mother On this most blessed spring day Someday we will walk this dock Together just you and I, sweetheart Peaceful calming thoughts Wash softly over me today Here in my safe haven At the park on the river All writing comes |

"I feel at peace here In quiet communion with nature An escape within the city Serving as my private sanctuary" Wonderful description Lone Wolf ... I almost felt as if I was intruding on this beautiful and private moment, excellent! Best wishes, /Kit |

Kathleen: Thank you very much, sweetheart. I would love to share this place with you one day. Joyce: Thanks, I guess I have been contemplating a lot lately. Irie: Your words have left me with a smile. You can gain true peace if you follow the right path. AT: Everyone should have some place that is special to them in my opinion. Thanks! Kit: It was a very private moment, but I felt like I needed to share it with others. You definitely are not intruding. You are just silently observing it. PV: I am happy to conjure up images of your Mother. It is good to look back at times I think. Thank you. All writing comes |
