~* She Is Sun ~ I, Moon *~

~*She is Sun, I, Moon*~

Behold the beauty and power of the ocean.
Her secret depths unknown to no one but God.
Fathomless and daunting.
Yet upon her swelling moods,
It is we, brave and relentless souls,
Who guide these simple barks from shore to shore.

Even at the drawing of the celestial drapes,
We sail onward by God's candlelight.
Into the darkness we dare to change her ebbs and tides!
For the call of the siren must be heeded,
Less we never have the choice again.

As she rises in the early morn,
A robin dares not begin his song,
Until she emerges from the folds of her oyster.
She walks amongst the strewn petals of roses,
And washes in the steamy waters,
Of the hidden baths in the mountains.
She dries the fluttering wings of a million butterflies,
And rubs exotic flowers, whose names are long ago forgotten.

She has truly descended from the Heavens above.
She is the kiss upon your face in the summer,
And the gentle warmth at the nape of your neck in the spring.
She is the shining star that guides my thoughts,
And the brilliant spice that motivates my spirit.
Without her I am without beginning or end.
With her I am complete.

Full circle as the bands of gold, resting on our fingers.
We stand in the heavens united as a single flame.
Burning with the fever of life, and the passion of love,
As an example for all to see on earth below.
She is Sun, and I, Moon.

Outstanding--- I especially liked the 3rd stanza. Nice image too,

Mysteria...this is wonderful writing....
the employ of imagery and ethereal metaphor and comparisons of nature and emotion makes this an empowering read
well poetess of natures graces

tis never easy being a moth,
tis not easy being the flame.
what some never see is--
sometimes ... most times ...
they are one in the same.

"Ah, shucks", she says, as she curtseys with a slight rosy blush to her cheeks...you guys are the greatest.  I love metaphors, and used them a lot as a kid, but Mom said, "spit it out girl...what do you want to say!. Thank you all for reading this.

This is so cool. Love the poem and it is true that you can shuffle metaphor with the best of them.

I am....completely speechless...for the first time in my entire life.  This has left me in awe and standing in the oceans of my thoughts and emotions at present...how beautiful life can be when you reach out and touch the heart of the person that destiny sent there to find you...it's a feeling too awesome to describe!
I loved this, Sharon.........................
I love you as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs and millions of smiles....dawn

Latin Passions: I am glad you loved it.  This poem was written for my best friends one on one side of the world, one on the other, and all the earth inbetween does not lessen their love.

Martha: YOU speechless, right!  All kidding aside, you put a whole new meaning into "reach out and touch someone", long before they did! Love you girl!

Lady Elizabeth: (and I say that with respect)...You have made my day!  To have you like something I did, thrills me to no end, and I am serious (you are my mentor) - well I try to learn from you let me put it that way!  Thank you so much!

Sudhir: I am so glad you liked this one, it was fun to do.
