Grand Canyon

I looked into time, trace and space …into grand canyons place and face.
Into the mist of evermore…into awes forevermore
Into the seared of times earth pale…above a beard of fallen shale.
Places with names I will not say…for they will only fade away.

Above a fragile green they stand…stark red stones, magnificent, grand.
But grand is not the word to use…for they are beaten and abused.
Weeping mountains, broken, insane…dried in the sun, melting in pain.
With nothing to stop or hinder…fallen boulders turning cinders

I’ve never seen times face so clear…or dinned in it’s shadow so near.
Or felt so lost and full of awe…by cost pursuant evermore.
But it will stand longer then I…for I am but sand on the fly.
Eluviums to eons pass…by millenniums of harass.

Standing in the wind and the snow…I looked at canyons far below.
Green speckled base trying to climb…shambles of waste and changing time
Erosion of a previews store…exploding in a view of awe
All the color, shell and the dwell…canyons reaching well into hell

The wind swept bold, the air bit cold…the snow crept into every fold.
It searched the core of every hole…right through the door of my soul.
I could not fathom my feelings…this grandeurs ravenous leavings.
These sight in the wink of an eye…these inklings, momentary sigh.

A billion years of wind and rain…this modillion of canyons reign.
Only the features rhyme strain…making a show of time-sculptured pain.
And humbly I sat on the rim…like a gnat with a humbled whim.
A look into time, place on place…into Grand Canyon face to face.

What can one say this Ap.pi.an-way…but to wish humanity equal stay?

What a wondrous visit you've made to those things that were here before us, and will cast shadows long after we leave...

a beautiful write.

   ME *WINKIE WINKIE* is back!!!

AHHHH now me is happy!!
and me will be back to read this gift of rhyme divine when I have more time
MISSED YOU STINKY

Did you make it to the Milky Way,
see the lights faded
that heaven is overrated
Did you fall for a shooting star
One without a permanent scar

once again I live vicariously thru you..
and see the world thru your eyes of wisdom and way cool view.

There are so many outstanding lines here, all I can do is shake my head in awe of you being in awe of the view.
Sy...the imagery and detail in this is amazing and you know I am flying around the room at the same line rhyme and the (...) format...
but the TRUE gift of this is the intensity of the awe emoted...and most of all the wisdom and respect that you define with your poetic phrases...
you didnt just see the Canyon...
you felt its evolution...
you didnt just look across it.. you witnessed its core and place in infinity
and in all its impressive looming majesty,
you also saw its frailty and then your own..
mankinds own...
THIS is what I mean when I say the view thru your eyes...
is like flying with butterflies
*winkiewinkie*
I learn so much from you...
and I thank you for that...always.
love ya Sy-babes
me

tis never easy being a moth,
tis not easy being the flame.
what some never see is--
sometimes ... most times ...
they are one in the same.

When you respond after Janet Marie, you've nothing left to say but "ditto" which is a word I hate. But I agree with all her remarks. I felt as though it was I sitting on the edge of the canyon.
Very well done, master poet
Exquisite, I would say
