For Mother's Day:
For my Mother, Corina

Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers out there

today Mom,
is a day set aside for you
it's a day when you usually get
flowers and candy and jewelry

but today Mom,
I have a gift to give
that's just the right size, color, and shape
and best of all, you won't have to return it

here it is
you'll forgive me a little
if the container is a bit torn
and if the edges are a bit beat
I've been holding on to it for a while
it's actually a gift you gave
to me thirty-three years ago
it's my life

and I know
that it probably doesn't look
like you thought that it would
when you gave it to me
I've tried to take care of it
the best that I could
and yes, I made mistakes
but you forgave me for them
and I learned from them
thanks to you

so here Mom,
today, I return the
gift of my life
back to you
a gift that you
gave me in love
and a gift
I now
give to you in thanks

And what finer gift can a Mother receive?  Beautiful Sven, this Mum would be honoured to receive such a beautiful poem and/or gift...

Beautiful piece of work Sven.
This is something for her to be proud of...
says something about her too, like the kind of son she's raised
and the great job she has done!
