What Greater Gift?

When was a morning ever so beautiful
When was a child ever so sweet
When did my heart in all of it’s glory
Ever feel joy so warm and complete

What greater gift was ever bestowed me
What greater beauty has captured my eye
What sweeter breath has touched me with fragrance
Pure as a rose in the breeze passing by

Who could describe the sentiments pouring
Straight from the deepest wells of my heart
Tears can’t begin to tell of this moment
Who could imagine what words to impart

How did I come to warrant this pleasure
How did my world turm so suddenly grand
I could have never imagined a treasure
So warm and so beautiful layed in my hand

Why are the tears spilling over my smile
Why do I feel so fulfilled and complete
Now that I’ve lived years of joy and of sorrow
The birth of a grandson is ever so sweet

I wait for the day when I have a grandchild...I thoroughly enjoyed this one, Elizabeth.

Hi Liz,

This is so beautiful and I'm very happy for you, you truly are a special soul and this one shows it so very much.

Congratulations Elizabeth!

Children have a way of making us melt, don't they.
A beautiful poem you've penned, and I hope you keep it for
your new grand child to read years later.

Much enjoyed!
