~*~WOLF ~ CALL HOME~*~She stands alone and howls out her plea, Silently she waits for a haunting echo's call. Not a sound, where will she start her search? Now tears of hatred for mankind so softly fall. Her heart is aching for her mate so lost. The Father to her waiting hungry 'six pack'. She can not even search for long, all alone... Her cubs - she really should be getting back! But survival and hunger presses her on; She suddenly picked up his familiar scent.... The tracks and smell are fresh, is he alive? With muscles tense, on a search she flies hell bent. There were so many lost already this year, To what their enemy seemed to think was fun... Leaving females and newborn cubs to starve, All for the sake of firing a bright new, shiny gun! She suddenly sees his figure off in the distance, Not knowing if he is alive or dead... And so afraid to go any closer in such fear, That her fate would be sealed, and her cubs will not be fed! Suddenly her fears vanished, she sees movement! He turned to her like any other man would, and said, 'I didn't call because I was on my way home!' 'You look worried...did you think that I was dead?' She could not hold back the anger she felt, And charged him, taking him to the ground... 'You worried me - you handsome wolf I am furious but at least you have been found!' ~* The moral *~ Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone...and I always wondered why it is guys never, ever, Seem to want to call their wives at home? ~* and *~ Of course, the issue of shooting wolves *wink* ~*~ Art by: Al Agnew - "Arctic Wolves" world-wide art.com Music by: elan michaels - "Spirit of the Wolf" members.ncbi.com/elan michaels ~*~ Mysteria ~*~ © Copyright 2001 All Rights Reserved [This message has been edited by Mysteria (edited 03-28-2001).] |

Dawn ~ sneaky way to protect those beautiful beasts - they are fabulous animals and so necessary to the cycle of the environment. Irish Rose ~ Thank you for reading this. Sven ~ If I made you laugh I did my job! Thanks. Windwarrior ~ Go home and play! You would be surprised - when neglected - women are at the best, honest! LOL - thanks. |

Such angst and sadness topped with a great big dollop of humor. *S* Seems some things aren't species specific, hunh? LOL. Great writing! |
