With Tender Touch Your Garden Grows

To this day in my memories so bright
I have to say with much delight
That you are the one whom I cherish most
The mother I love whom gave her utmost

In umber’s glow came lullabies
Telling tales and answering our why’s
Giving sweet kisses for the night
Promising adventure at dawn’s first light

Barefoot wanderings in sheer delight
Possessing no fear cause mothers in-flight
To save the day from all that befalls us
Bandaging up our mortal wounds “oh so tight”

When our tummies were filled with ache
To the kitchen we ran giving you no break!
Never once leaving us in hungers blight
Always making sure it was kid size bites

You kept us covered through seasons long
With garments bought from sweated brow
And sure enough we wore them thin
But while we slept you patched them again!

Your garden has grown to massive size
But in you lays a heart capable and wise
Love just waiting to be given so freely
May I someday be-able to return love so kindly

So upon this day I bid you my unwavering love
Just as you have done my whole life through
Never once leaving me like a worn out shoe
May your heart be content knowing your beloved

It’s Mothers Day a day just for you
Here’s hoping for you the very best
That life has to offer at your request
Anything you want cause I love you

Oh, how I would love to receive such a poem on Mother's Day! Unfortunately nobody in the family writes poetry. I'm sure your mother was thrilled with this beautiful message from a loving daughter
