state of confusion

Bitter is the root,
planted too shallow,
in unfertile fields
unendingly fallow,
an ailing, wild weed
struggling in a desert,
for nourishment -
a dusty bowl of dessert.

But the seed that lies dormant,
waiting for spring’s rain song,
and winds to part clouds
to make way for noon’s sun,
will find existence verdant,
thrive in adversity,
divine in reflection,
bright as the golden poppy.

This really meant something special to me as I have been planting seeds all week!
Thank you, Corinne

Sometimes your writing is way too intelligent for me.... but I like the golden puppy line. (whatever that means)

This is rather exquisite Corrine, so beautiful.  *s*

This is a lovely poem. Your recognition of our need for periods of dormacy, for "sabbath" is a valuable lesson. You write like someone who truly understands this- you bloom.
