A Whistle day  (a repost, because I needed to remember)

Have you ever had a whistle day?
One of those days where
no matter what happens
you just sail right through it,
usually the sky is blue
and the air clean and crisp,
like an apple
and just as sweet.

That’s the way today was,
and even though I was looking
and couldn’t find where I needed to go,
I kept on looking
and eventually the curb slowed
and the numbers corrected themselves,
and the gate was open,
even the dog
was small and brown
and licked my awwww.

So, this whistle it just sounded
sharp and keen across the sky,
the trees were perfect outlines
for zapping back and forth
without touching a leaf
or disturbing a pine cone

and I just thought
to write the notes down
so I’d remember how the tune went
you know,
so I could play it again
some cold December rain
and know that no matter how bumpy,
I’m talking here about the road
the path that has no sign posts,

the whistle can come back around
and touch me, see.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)

A very delightful poem, that makes me want to whistle. I love the way it comes around at the end.
You are so clever, my dear

We all need whistle days, sing-song days, sunny days, for our rainy days...

yes, this is good, this is very, very good....

and now I shall whistle while I work...

Yanno - I needed a 'whistle day' and you sent one, isn't poetry grand?  No matter what mood one wakes up in, words are there to see you through yet another day, so thank you for your whistling words of wisdom!

Thanks for sharing your whistle day.  This poem is the reason I love poetry so much.
