Be My Friend

There was a time when the epitaph I’d chosen read
‘Lost more friends…than most have ever known’

that is not true this time
I want to be your friend
I’m having more fun than I can possibly tell you
being me, the best of me
with someone
who asks nothing of me, even between the lines
but
should you need anything, anything at all
feel free to ask
you already give me more than I give you
I owe you more than you will ever ask
to be repaid

if you need me
I am here

With such a gilded
invitation placed
forth who could
say no to thee

Nicely done

A beautiful invitation - I would be honored to have you as my friend as well. I agree with everyone above - who could say no~~ not I.

For those who believed in me -
I send my love.

You have captured that rare occurance of what friendship can be, a true friendship, which I think is rarely found.  But I think it is known instantly for what it is.  Beautifully done!

It's wonderful to have the love and support of friends when you need it most.  You are very lucky indeed.  Nice write!
