I remember when the world was spread Before me like a smorgasbord. I knew that just around the bend, I'd find a pirnce with gleaming sword. My path would be with roses strewn. My prince would cut the brambles down. The fleecy clouds in my bright sky, Would hold no rain to tumble down. I was a loved, protected child, With someone there, to smooth the way. So merrily I skipped along, With carefree thoughts the live-long day. Quite suddenly the world was changed, The cotton batting pulled away. My prince was late, I was alone. My life was in such disarray. It was a rude awakening, To know I must depend on me. "Why not,?" I asked, "I have a head, Two hands, two feet, two eyes to see. So with that thought, I set about, To see what would become of me. I shined my sword of confidence And set my sights on what would be. It seemed I had the wherewithal, To live in the affirmative. I found a job to pay my way And learned I had a lot to give. Now when my prince comes into view, I'll run to meet him and he'll see, I have as much to offer him, As he might bring to offer me. wonderful!! this is no fairy tale, life..... to find yourself, believe in yourself, treasure all you are MUST happen first before the true love can be found.,.... you wrote it well... the rhyme, meter, words chosen.... all quite well done. |
