A Mother's Love

How much do I love you, little one
The question numbs a mother’s tongue
For God gave life, but didn’t impart
A measure for a mother’s heart

Nor did he make an ocean’s depth
To hold the whisper of her breath
Nor galaxy so vast and wide
To hold the love she feels inside

There is no answer she can find
To sooth a little child’s mind
The only comfort in her hands
Unspoken words he understands

She gives to him with heart unfurled
A hug that’s felt around the world
A kiss that swiftly has undone
A child’s question sweetly sung

How do you describe what seems indescribable and do it so well?

To answer Elizabeth's question....because....she is Lady Santos!

Again, another marvel.

So very tenderly spoken from your pen to our hearts.

"I am not now that which I have been."

You know Elizabeth you have said here the same thoughts I have carried for 35 years for my Son, but not known how to describe.  A Mother's love is something so deep and vast that I did not think there were words to describe it, UNTIL NOW!  Thank you for putting words to my feelings too.

I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

There is simply no way of measuring a mother's love for her child.  This is beautiful. Joyce
