I have lived long enough to know That nothing can be forever. It is only the foolish young Who think there's an ever and ever. Another Memorial Day, Carrying beautiful flowers, To bring to the graves of dear ones Who wasted their few precious hours. Each thought to have another day, To say things that needed saying. It's too late now for all the love, Their words should have been conveying. Here is the stone of one who took His grudges with him to the grave; I weep for how it could have been. Such resentment can but enslave. It's too late, now, to make things well, No matter how the heart may long. Forgiving words will not be said; Too late, too late, to right a wrong. Speak while you draw your life's sweet breath. Don't postpone them don't dare to wait; The words of love for another, Should be said, ere it is too late. Joyce Johnson 5/9/01 |

Sadly too many go to their grave with unresolved pain. Thanks for this great piece! |

I suppose we can hope for forever but in reality we are not even guaranteed today...James |
