There’s a new strange “magic” in the air! It’s called the “Net”. It’s everywhere! Start up the modem. Dial the “Net” See if there's an e-mail yet! Go to a room! Start a chat! I wonder! Is this where he’s at? Hello! is anyone out there? Is there someone, for me to care? Is he real, or just cyber space? How can I know? I can’t see her face Check my e-mail! Send ICQ again! Will she be on? Oh where oh when? How do I know, if he’s really there? Is she really there? Does she care? Is she married and just playing? How can I believe, a word he’s saying? Is this picture really true? No word yet! God I’m blue! What does he look like? How does he feel? How can I know she’s really real? My heart goes out over the “Net”! Will she write? No e-mail yet! When can I meet him? Who will he be? What’s in her heart? Is she for me? This cyber love, I cant’ decide! Should I quit? No! Let it ride! There’s a new strange “magic” in the air! It’s cyber love! I agree with Wynter - there are many married men "pretending" to be what they are not. I guess women too. I enjoyed your poem and I will keep it in my library. Regardless - you wrote a great one! |

Ariana the very anonymity of the net is it's allure. People pretend and act out fantasies with often destructive disregard for the feelings of others. There are also gender predators, stalkers, child stalkers and one must learn to protect themselves and their families out here as anywhere else danger resides...Yet it is also wonderous is this "Net" so many new friends and folks we've not met.
