Alone...
In the pre-dawn silence...
Thoughts racing, keeping mind awake inside a weary body...
No particular reason for sleeplessness...
Blame it on the moon...
These are the hours of cherished solitude...
There is no interference from anyone...anything...
These are the hours for writing...
Let the mind wander, while the pen obeys the call of the soul...
Writer’s bliss...
No interruptions...just pen and paper and quiet...
A candle glowing softly...
Throwing enough light to play tag on the paper...
Words fill the empty spaces and ink flows freely...
These are the hours...
When night looms in one corner, and dawn in another...
They both come out fighting, knowing the fight is fixed...
Dawn always wins, for night’s energy is spent...
But in the silent battle there lies the old friend, Time...
Awarding precious moments of solitude...
To be snatched up and cherished, then used to create...
To satisfy the ever present need in the writer’s soul...
The need to simply write...
Yes...these are the hours...
A gift from Time, offered freely...
To be accepted and savored, like morsels of rare ambrosia...
These are the hours...
of peace...

Thank you, my friend!

Sunny

Hopefully you had a hot cup of coffee to keep you company.  You have penned many thoughts that quite a few of us feel or have felt.  Really enjoyed this one.

Night is my friend too. Lucky for me I can do with just a few hours of sleep.
They are so special those times when one can 'hear' the silence.

beautifull written, thank you.

*soft gasps*
You have it too, eh?
A constant need to write. The hours you speak of here are the most fun to write in. I loved this.
