I hid watching in the forest- As the white man came ashore... Somehow I knew that things would change And not be like before. They felled the trees to fortify- The land we called our own. I knew the time would come to pass The People would be gone. The flood of whites pushed on and on They took our hunting grounds- And slew our wives and children... Making room for white men’s towns. Diseases, and their whiskey- Decimated all the tribes... And robbed our people of their land Their heritage and pride. Kah Dih! Please hear your grandson- Won’t you intervene before... The Tshoah are but a memory- And the Comanche roam no more? |

I knew I would read some good poetry when I clicked. I was not disappointed. Well written and expressed. |
