Spring Rain Virginia Salter as night commenced drip, drip, drop, drop pitter, patter plop, plop drip, drip, drip, drip, drip pitter, pitter, pitter, pat rain falling on outside cat, gently, yet more swiftly now lovely drink does fall . . . morning comes delightful sky, ringed in deep gray blue, slowly brightens over God-watered land so sated is each inch of soil refreshed and clean each plant enlivened with sweet moisture to face the day, soon drinking in the sun with renewed vigor would that we, each one of us, be so revived to the hours ahead from our God-watering of rest © May 2, 2000 |
