When lucid thought gives
up to frenzied reason
loose words are waved
like bloody battle flags
accusations are piled
and heaped like dunes of sand
that shift but do not waver
as truth disappears beneath the
grains and  delirium’s tight grip
suffocates any notion of remorse
the madness becomes consistent
the wretched mind gives way
cause  becomes random driven
distinctions are blurred and erased
confusion mingles with the truth
lustful with sadistic desire
to create its own malignant misery
mixing  hatreds venom in with poison
creating a cauldron of malice
that becomes in this  madness
like fuel to satan’s fire.

As I said to K and Maree,, perhaps I have been on one domestic violence call too many,, sometimes it is just unbelievable the things people say and do..hence the madness and malice..

Such darkness here and it's so well done!! I could feel the tension - actually, I read this quickly and became 'breathless'. But I do see what you're getting at with this...I would like to think that anyone who gives up lucidity for this kind of blind anger would get help.

Jamie, your examination of the progression of madness makes for a potent composition. A difficult state to find truth in, to be sure, but this piece is nicely put together. Thanks for it.
