The eastward skies opened up like a little girl's smiling face
Just as dark clouds rushed away as if part of a big race.

A new morning had risen with sun's bright and dazzling rays
A new day had thus begun in summer birds' chirping sways.

My eyes rolled to see the other side where my shadow lay
The westward horizon today seemed much more than away.

It felt so strange that the yesterday looked a distant past
As I said bye to the stars who left the scene fleeing fast.

Yet I know that like a dream this sunny day will be gone
And I would stay back to welcome night stars to shine till dawn.

This cycle will thus go on with day following the night
Continued by the night rushing behind crimson day light.

And life will go on with me following my shadow's sight
Continued by my dark shape playing catch-up with my might.

And all this time and all these years in hope's warm afterglow
A candle of faith in my own being will host my show.

Maybe the title is a bit weird... hopefully the content is not... Thanks in advance for coming by...

Thought the title very fitting,, nicely done..

Ah Sudhir ... always a pleasure to read your vantage on life. I chase this shadow endlessly too, and found this to be a very visual piece for me. Very nicely written, much enjoyed!

Best wishes,
/Kit

yes, life goes on and to use the phrase "following your shadow" is a wonderful way to see that..thank you, Sudhir.
