I cannot help but wonder- What tomorrow holds in store. Another stretch of highway That I’ve never seen before. The long, West Texas vistas- The never ceasing wind... It sure does make this cowboy wish- That he was young again. Instead my old suitcase- I’d have my duffle-bag... Instead of these dress Wranglers- My jeans would look like rags. No briefcase back in those days- Just a bullrope and a bell- Leggings, glove, and rosin bag... I guess it’s just as well... I never made the big time- Just a bunch of no-name shows. My wife’s sure glad I got too old To chase the rodeos. I guess gold-buckle dreamin’- Is a thing that’s just for kids... But still, I’m glad I took the time, To go and make my bids. I’m still livin’ from a suitcase- I’m fated to, it seems... I guess that’s why I still recall- All my gold-buckle dreams. |

I knew a young cowboy who won a few of those gold buckles, riding the broncs. He lost the big ride of his life in Viet Nam. |

Thank all of you for your kindness, Sorry to dredge up painful memories "inot2be", I guess most of us lost friends, family, or loved in the "Nam". |
