I talked to someone yesterday,
Looking into eyes of blue.
I knew that I could have loved him,
if I had never met you.

I wanted to take his hand in mine,
and leave you in my past.
I wanted to tell him I believed,
we had something that could last.

But I couldn't do it.
My heart spoke out for you.
It said 'not to deceive myself,
to myself always be true'.

So I wished him well,
then slowly walked away.
My mind again was drifting,
back to my yesterday.

Thoes few stolen moments,
that we shared in days gone by.
Ruined my chances to love another,
To try would be living a lie.

I wonder where I'd be today,
if you never entered my life ?
I try not to think of that,
or of you having a wife.

I guess I'm where I should be.
According to destiny's plan.
I suppose it wasn't meant for me
to love another man.

Somehow, it doesn't seem quite right.
for destiny to plan my life this way.
For me to live and love alone,
trapped into yesterday.

I could get someone to love me.
Someone to hold me tight,
Who'll hold my hand while walking,
'neath the pale moon of the night.

But I want someone whom I can love,
and who will love me too.
But this is not the way it is...
It's just me loving you.

If you can't make it so,
you need to let it go!

Kitty~
To get beyond yesterday ...
you have to reach for tomorrow ...
When you're ready ... it will happen.

Great write of longing for something in the past ...

Trapped in yesteryear. Small parts of ourselves remain in love for years as we take those lessons of love as gift for another.
