She walks along the the windswept beach
The wavelets wash over her bare feet
And a bottle gently rubs against her ankle
Curious, she bends to pick it up
She holds it up to the setting sun
Watching as it sparkles and gleams
Just as she is about to toss it aside
Something inside catches her eye
A note...

She hurries to her blanket
Spread there upon the sand
And slowly pulls the cork loose
Her hand trembles as she tips the bottle
Spilling the note into her palm
Carefully she unfolds it
Lifts it up to catch the light
Tears come to her eyes
As she reads...

My darling I love you
Though we are so far apart
And things seem so hopeless
Theres so many things I want to say
But words will never be enough
So I'm casting my love upon the water
Praying it will come back to me
And bring you back into my arms
Across this sea...

Theres never a day you arent with me
Never a moment I dont feel you near
I wake to the warmth of your memory
Whispering your love, and the promise
Of a kiss to keep me through the night
Your love gives me strength
And helps me make it through each day
When all I want to do is give up
And let go...

A shadow crosses the paper
And she looks up into sparkling eyes
I see you found my message, he whispers
He kneels down beside her, wipes away a tear
Tender hands cradle her close
Lips meet in kiss after sweet kiss
And they both wonder why words are needed at all
When each heartbeat says I love you
Forever...

A bottle tossed upon the waves
Holding his heart for her
Love as unending as this sea
Love forevermore...

Paula this is nice and romantic...I found a bottle that washed onto the North Shore...it was a Japanese bottle...Suntory Whisky...still has a little bit in the bottle...probably tossed from a Japanese fishing boat...it's kind of a neat bottle...James

Paula.....a lovely story. The sea, and its proximity, holds so much in the way of romance.  Bob  PS (though I may have already shared this before)

When love convulses
Like the sea,
Expression bottled,
Floats miserably.
