Reminder
By Melissa Honeybee

The scarlet coat of a robin dances vibrant
as tiger-tail butterfly wings waltz in air,
the enchanting sweet song of a thrush
serenades rainbows on windowpanes,
sunflowers of marigold dazzle reach ever high
into the aquamarine sky
greeting early stars of dusk as they glisten through a romantic mist,
doves of cream feather circle in flight of fancy free
while clouds form hearts of reverie
calling cherry blossoms to pirouette
dressed in pink sheath of heaven sent
as nature's most regal ballet dancer divine,
bells of angels chime throughout the hills of paradise
as a bride and her groom gaze into each other's eyes,
tenderly, love breathes it's tidings everywhere,
so, I wear a smile,
swallow my tears
and place my dreams
into the dusty coffin
of my hopechest
trying to silence
the pain of reminder
that I am...

alone

beauty resting atop such sadness

I too have a hopechest, a dusty one with memories of promises now broken

never quite thought of it as a coffin

I'd like to say please don't think of yours as such, yet, perhaps some of the memories are to be laid to rest that life may begin to flower anew, as if spring has reached your life.

Melis....the imagery in this is stunning...
and the emotional impact of the ending is wrenching...
your gift of expression is always evident.
well done poetess sweetbee

I miss you so much I cant stand it
Seems like my heart is breaking in two
My head says no, but my soul demands it
Everything I do reminds me of you

Melissa~
You have just done the most beautiful job on the imagery in this haunting melancholy piece.

You're never alone when in the circle of loving friendship here.
*Hugs* to you, sweet poet !
