I've got this paintbox
filled with tubes
some are half-squeezed
some unused...
cadmium
and brushes stiff
the waste of haste
no artist's thrift--
a pallet in rainbow's abuse
I've got this paintbox
filled with you.

Linseed, always, beckoning
in greed to capture reckoning
and every stroke should be mohair
to capture smoke--of barely there--
a whisper of a portraiture
the curl--unfurl--of lines of her...
each stroke the rubbing of the lamp
and magick dancing artist trance.

I know every shadow's grace,
the etchings of the chiseled face--
I know where each star should be placed
inflection of reflection's dance.

Beautiful phrasing Serenity ... this just sang to me!  It's been so long since I've worked on canvas, I'm afraid I've forgotten how. These words have given me a taste for it again, and powerfully!  I promised myself a year ago I'd set up a studio after my move and still haven't done it.  My oils, Magick White and Linseed Oil are calling ... this weekend perhaps. Mind if I print this to inspire me?  Loved this Serenity, and thank you!!

Best wishes,
/Kit

yer so
this poem is so cool, the phrasing, the imagery, the clever rhyme scheme
you paint a portrait of your heart with your words in a poem about painting...
like I said...COOL ... way cool baby

I miss you so much I cant stand it
Seems like my heart is breaking in two
My head says no, but my soul demands it
Everything I do reminds me of you

Serenity~
The title is as intriguing as the poem !
I really enjoyed this.

Think I'll make some time to dabble on the canvas tonight.

Serenity--This poem makes me wish I could paint...you have made it sound so inviting, even though a metaphor, and well done too.  A wonderful poem!
