You Touched Me

You touched my eyes
With a beauty
That would put the heavens to shame

You touched my mind
With your wit
And your words

You touched my body
When not even here
By the fantasies you weaved

You touched my heart
With your kindness
And your gentle ways

You touched my soul
By the love you gave
And wanted nothing in return

You had my love
Unconditionally
From the word go

You have touched
My heart, body, and soul
With a love
That was sent from above

I never knew love
Till I met you
I planned to keep you

But people change
Dreams die
Willows cry

Although Dreams Die
I know they do
So do you

It is the love
that we had to give
That will forever live

For as long as my heart beats
The love I have for you hidden there
Is something I forever will wear

I am not ashamed of it
Nor will I ever hide it
I am proud to say I love You

You are a blessing to me
Even though I am not free
And "we" shall never be an "us"
Our love will forever burn inside me

It never hurts to acknowledge those that have touched our lives.  Well done, Alan.

crafted and woven beautifully. How the words flowed - I enjoyed.

to love another. . . and then to love another that you can never have. . .

why do we torture ourselves so???

perhaps the answers lie here in this poem. . .

well done Alan. . .

This is so special to read, and I felt it, thank you for this one, Alan, and I think the real acid test for love is acknowledging someone you love without shame and guilt. That's the beauty of love, no one likes to be a secret, really..
