Never Give Up!It came to me yesterday, From where all my memories play. A little song I learned in youth, It begged for me to know the truth. A scene that could have not been drearier, Myself reflected upon that mirror. A ghost, a wraith, a shadow cast, Some demon with a haunted past. That caused me to desire death, To draw in, but just one last breath, Let the darkness have its feast, Leave now this world and travel East. To where the sun will rise again, And there is not the sound of men, But only hear the Angels cry, And tears of heaven that draw us nigh. That oft do beg to change our ways, And stay with us for all our days, Until we are in the very last hour, And stand before some God or Power. What will I answer beyond the star? When asked by this, just who we are? Will I remember my youth gone now long? And speak the words learned in that song? Or will my tongue be as of lead? And leave me to just being dead? What breath is left for me to take? That will not cause my heart to ache? That will not force me feet to follow, The lonely steps to depths so hollow? What keeps me from just giving in? And sets me at my task again? Indeed it is still in that song today, Learned in my youth, where memories play. It sings out light, where darkness corrupt, And teaches me that I must never give up! ~*~A rhyme? ~*~” Please visit me at my new homepage: |

So very beautiful, Sharon...and a message so very true and wise. Many times our past leaves us hiding from our memories..running from the pain we've locked away in the closets of our mind...but tomorrow holds the promises of our dreams and hopes....and the power to make them come true has no time limits, and remains forever within the chambers of our desire to touch them. This was absolutely incredible! I loved it! Hugs and smiles sent your way....dawn |

What a wonderful message, Sharon, one I always can listen to. Life sometimes is not what we'd wish it to be, but the alternatives are lousy! Katie Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood. |
