Softly so as not to disturb a snore
Knowing that soon I"ll do this no more

Looking in on sleeping youthful faces
Soon we shall no longer share places

Their mothers wishes soon to be granted
Goodnight to all the seeds I have planted

Wishing them only happiness and joys
Last time smiling at their small toys

Thrown and tossed in happy yesterdays
Knowing that I am the one that pays

Beause of their mothers indiscretion
Daddy now must look in a new direction

Looking forward and facing tomorrow
I shall do so without any sorrow

Because of the honor I live and sow
All my seed shall thrive and grow

The last two lines sum up in a neat, concise way, the man that you are....

it's good to know you!

My muse perceives this in different dimensions.  From the religious view I wonder if this is a reference to God and his seeds of spirit- or if it is simply a betrayed husband/lover/father.

I would be interested to hear your take.

I re-read this as if our Heavenly Father were speaking.  If this is the take this truly would be a shame.

Don,

This is so sad. You sound like a wonderful father who will do anything for his children. I hope things work out for you and your children.
