Soft Whispers in the Night by Michael Now silent is the night of scented dreams, of love’s caress that is no more. Soft whispers, sighs and heated breaths no longer touch. I reach and find her empty place where once was warmth. Where once there was a smile to greet my own. If I could for a moment hold her hand, or hear her laugh again. I close these eyes in hopes that I might see her in my sleep. Proust- |

Michael--It is sad when one is used to sharing a bed, to find it empty..especially a king sized. I liked this little piece of a life you show in this poem...tis poignant. |

"I close these eyes in hopes that I might see her in my sleep." Yes we want it to go on forever...so we hold on in out dreams and our thoughts...James |

Michael, I can relate to this, as I'm sure so many of us can. Such nice imagery here and I understand very well the longing. Hugs to you, dear man. Elizabeth Anne |

"Sleeping single in a double bed" of course just a song, but so true...as there is nothing quite like waking up and they are not there. This was truly a very heartfelt poem, and very well done too Sir Michael. Please visit me at my new homepage: |
