Now that I have turned young..
                                  when will
                              that Justason girl's
                                Married time,
allow her to ever kiss me?
                                 Never caring
                            that the clock still ticks...
because lust was filling her budding breasts,
                             when our lips locked.

                                But I do admit,
that even though the time has gone plumb crazy..
the BELL OF Youth does ring.

                             Why then would I admit
                                 that I am old?
                            Here musing in the office
                              with my coffee black,
                              steaming in my hand.
                                  Blue-eyed.
                                Behind glasses,
                        thinking thoughts of daring romps.
                             Dyed salt-rooted hair.
                             Making an impression,
upon old friends I chance to meet..

                              I have turned young!

For a friend that has been acting so silly this way (mid-life crises?)...now I've just got to get him to read this.

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Ah Ethome, if we keep this at the top, will that help?

Excellent...but tell your friend, it doesn't only happen to men...

and therein lies the miracle...

I knew this couldnt be about you even before I read your note....
for YOU will age like fine wine...getting better with time...
like a classic tune ... like the wise man in the moon
loved the imagery and wit in this E-babes...
very cool...let your friend act the fool

There are two lasting bequests
that we can hope to instill in our children
one is roots ...
the other ... wings.

Thank Paula I'm glad I tickled your fancy However, the poem really isn't about me honest!!  Thanks for the reply.

Thank you Karilea and I know what you mean as I've seen it happen to women also.

Well Janet thanks for the aging like wine comment. Glad you could tell it wasn't about me and after watching him it will certainly encourage me not to ever be that way.

Thanks Secret I appreciate the comment and compliment!

Martie it happenes but some carry the joke too far. However, none of us wants to get old but guess what!  Thanks Martie!

Remind your friend that saying, "There's no fool like an old fool".
Heck tell him to go buy a sports car. It will be cheaper in the long run, than a trophy girlfriend.
Yes us mature women see mature men out with young women and laugh, cause we know she'll only keep him around while there is money available.
