You wanted it perfect I’ve no doubt you tried Who could have predicted The sudden storm So brief yet so potent And so it became My most memorable moment We agreed we’d meet In the gazebo in the park No more fateful encounter Than the Empire State Meeting of Cary and Deborah Who could have predicted The sudden storm So brief yet so potent And so you appeared In the minute it took To cross the park You were soaked Hair, so carefully coiffed Hanging down Limply blowing It should have been me The storm ill-timed It should have caught me But it was you Suddenly you with shy embarrassment Suddenly me with soft caress Kissing raindrops from your cheek You were never lovelier Then that day With the wind and the rain In your hair The first duty of love is to listen. |

Come to Kansas...we've plenty of both...especially the wind! A wonderful read, glad to see Deb and Cary made the sojourn to join your weave... |

Lovely words - poor girl who probably didn't want to look like a drowned rat. It is what is within the heart that counts and you have captured the true meaning. Ariana |

You have a heart of gold. Where else but love could a person be cherished when at less than perfection. Great read-thanks. |

It is within those imperfect moments we find love. How well you expressed this. "I am not now that which I have been." |

Lovely sentiments. Here in Washington, we know to carry rain bonnets. Joyce |

Thank you all - you're much too kind - I can only say - I'm most grateful - that my muse - delivers words that sustain me and adds to the pleasure you find |

A truly lovely story of unconditional love at its best, how touching this was. |
