"Silhouettes In The Sand" I have walked this lonely stretch of beach, looking for peace and contentment. The sound of the waves drown out the crying of my heart's torment. This day is just one of many that I have come here, but it seems different in some odd kind of way. I saw you sitting on the pier, newspaper in hand, sun glasses and chair. You also stroll the beach and I have been watching you looking at me. You have a beautiful smile and gentle face; your large brown eyes are something to behold. Without a word, I could tell, that there is a story to be told. Are you also slowly dieing of a broken heart? Of a partner that doesn't need you any more and wants to live apart. I wave at you and you wave back. I will see you tomorrow and maybe some day we will talk, friend to friend, heart to heart, or just become silhouettes in the sand. |

love the picture that you've painted here. . , ----------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Marge: Thank you for walking with me along the beach and your kind comments. James: Nice hearing from you but I bet your beaches are nicer than here in Florida. Amuse_mi: I am glad that had a chance to stroll with me along the beach and for stopping by. Severn: Thanks for coming all the way from New Zealand. I really appreciate your most generous comments - especially since I am new at writing poetry.. Sunshine: I am sincerely glad that you liked my work and for stopping by. Sven: The sunset and sunrise at the beach is just breathtaking and maybe, some day, I can write a poem about the beauty of it all. Thanks for stopping by. |

Your poem caught my attention as I read and reread. Each time I looked at it, I saw the long Hilton Head beaches. I have strolled those lines many a times, listening to the waves crash along the lines. How lucky you are to have found such a friend. LP |

i used to have a friend and she and i would go sit on a bench and watch people walk by and observe them and quietly try to figure out their "stories".... it was a wonderful exercise.... just to become so aware that you look beyond people's eyes.... anyway, this reminded me of that... this had more, though... the imagining of a future love or friendship i liked it very much |

Sunnyone: I am glad that you could see the true meaning - I do appreciate your kind words of encouragement. Hugs to you too! Latin Passion: I was born and raised in New England and I spent many a day and night listening to the waves. Thank you for coming by. doreen peri: I read somewhere that if you looked closely, you could read an entire story in someone's eyes (sadness, happiness, etc) and I believe this to be true. There alot of people that you meet in one's travels, and some are exceptional. Thank you for your comments. Kit McCallum: Ah yes, it is a tender picture and with the beautiful climate in Florida, I hope to paint many more. Thank you for stopping by. Charisma: Thank you for stopping by all the way from the Netherlands. I am very happy that you liked it. Hugs to you too!. |
