I must admit that
at first I was unsure.
Our eyes locked.
I was caught in your allure.

I was scared and afraid
but then our lips met.
Ecstasy replaced anxiety.
Nothing else could make me forget.

I opened up
and let you in my heart.
You're leaving now.
I don't want us to be apart.

Going away and giving up
are just lies.
When we kissed,
I felt those butterflies.

You feel this for me too
so when you walk away
hiding emotions and affections
it's only your heart you betray.

I hate good-byes
but you must depart.
Go, remembering the kiss
Taking whats left of my heart.

Enjoyed your poem especially these lines:
"When we kissed,
I felt those butterflies.

Yes I do remember those butterflies with that first kiss. Mine stayed sorry yours left.

read and reread your love tokens of praise. You conveyed compassion in your words, for what I too feel right now. One would ask do they really want to part? I ponder on your "I hate good-byes but you must depart." I to as inot2B said "I can promise you that I won't leave you." LP
