[center] Bridges There are bridges between hearts, pathways between souls, bonds that should never be broken, or crippled - damaged in any way; but life's not that beautiful, it's not heavenly, angelic, perfect in any way. Bridges sometimes weaken with age, become infested with doubt and jealousy, are blown apart in rage, seem to fall apart for no reason at all, or because we stop believing, forget to care, don't perform the maintainance we should. Bridges, once a pleasure to cross, burn down, breakaway, disappear, and though we try, sometimes they're damaged beyond repair, become impossible to rebuild, become just a memory of what we knew. Bridges that once connected us, that flowed with love, pathways of passion beautiful beyond anything ever known are no longer havens of trust, bonds of faith; many have broken and fallen, some beyond repair; few connect us now, and even these, fragile as they are, tremble in every breeze. Bridges between hearts, pathways between souls, bonds of life that should be nutured and cherished, not thrown away because things are "tough". Bridges between hearts, pathways between souls, so much to lose, so much to hold. w. james beard, jr. © March 2000 [center] [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 04-27-2001).] |

What can I say, except that these are wise words that should be remembered? |

once someone told me "I've surveyed the terrain between your heart and mine and there are no bridges to cross" I felt it was a beautiful meaning and this poem is also beautiful |

I feel I'm at that crossroad, your words are encouraging - I hope my bridge is repairable, by only with time. LP |

Wonderful to hope for friends who've lost their bridges. Often we must go to the special Someone to be our bridge for us and that is exactly Who he wishes to be for each of us. |
