Nursery Rhyme Of Woe

Little Melissa Muffet
falls defeated on her tuffet
choking on the memories
of over-chewed reveries...
along came a spider
who crept down behind her
molesting her day -
innocence poisoned away,
Georgie porgie sneaky pie
kissed another girl and made her cry
his gaze revealed paradise and a place to die
humpty dumpty heart cracks in sigh of why?
in eyes of brown with flecks of gold
by the joker of fools, her soul was sold
lil' Melissa blue blow your horn
of days gone by, stale dreams to mourn,
older than her years
bitter in her tears
raw is the chill of sorrow deep
strangled in webs of lies, eternal to keep,
lost Melissa blue
is alone, 'tis true
mocked by the chime of the tick-tock...tick-tock
ceaseless cries of the hickory dickory clock
wheezing Monday's child is fair of face
yet, hers stands stricken with disgrace,
Wednesday fits the sentence or so it goes...
little Miss Muffet is full of woe

Melis.. this is a very creative piece...
I like the employ of all the classic nursery rhymes but with the sad ending twist ...
written with your signature raw emote and evoke of emotion..
but ya know what darlin poet...
me thinks its time you write your self a happy ending...
one about a butterfly spreading those wings and soaring the skies

Though my soul may sit in darkness,
It will arise in perfect light.
For I have loved the stars too fondly ...
To be fearful of the night.

Melissa,

A clever poem for sure, but dreadfully sad.  I wish you my best, dear poet.

Write on and write it out.

Melissa,

Wonderfully creative, but sooo sad! Your poems are so heartbreaking... I can't wait until the day I see something happy and enchanting from from you   I know the day will come.  Hugs to you my amazing poetic friend .
