It was nearly two years ago
As I typed my words out on the screen
Very soon I was to meet a friend
One that could not be seen

A message was sent to me
From a stranger named Dave
Very soon, right before my very eyes
The road of friendship would be paved

I sent a message back and said
"Hi, my name is Sue"
Then we chatted about our lives
Was it an hour, maybe two?

The time it went so fast
Then we said our goodbyes
Then with the flick of a switch
You disappeared before my eyes

From that moment on
We became such good friends
Every conversation with you
I never wanted it to end

How easily did the words just flow
As we'd pass the time of day
There was never any uneasiness
We always had something to say

You sensed when I was sad
And you'd lift my spirits high
I felt so very comfortable with you
Even at times when I needed to cry

Even though I cannot see you
And probably never will
Your warm and ever caring heart
Manages to shine through still

Life is full of surprises
Good mates are so hard to find

And for treating me so kind
