The paths you take
The lives you make
They’re all to be remembered

In search for struggle
The desire for obstacles
To overcome the overwhelming

To stride in pride
Not cower and hide
To rise to the occasion

To look back and say
That back in the day
You fought through think and thin

Though some contenders
You’ll face in life
You’ll find you cannot win....

With a charming grin and friendly laugh
Or a sinister smile and sunken eyes
Contenders come in any form and any size

They’ll beat you down
They’ll take your crown
They’ll break your mold and throw away the cast

With intent to seduce
With intent to destroy
To the world your life is a mere toy

So I say to you
To ones who venture
In search to overcome the obstacles of life

Do not search!
Do not seek!
For sorrow and struggle will come to you!

The paths you take
The lives you make
They’re all to be remembered....

Joe this is so true. How dare another ruin a persons life, but they do. But I am ever the optimist and I know there are a lot more helpers than hinderers. Love, Joyce

We all choose the path we walk on...how we walk it...how we choose to be remembered...thats what makes each person individually their own...great write

I agree that we all face no-win situations and that no life is free of sorrow and struggle no matter what path we choose... but I guess I'd rather my inevitable remembrances include "I tried and gave it my all." *S* Welcome to Passions!
