Cemetery Mornings They sway there heads from side to side with very heavy sorrow Knowing that the one they loved with not be here tomorrow Plodding of in a world of grief and hearts in hand Their foot steps play an agonizing melody Though one remains that’s reluctant to cross The threshold of a new reality In a maze of emotion and a plethora of truths all surfaced too soon He attempts to find purpose for mortality, though too jaded to ponder Collapsing to the ground in misguided guilt He wallows in a cloud of confusion Only time with ease his pain, or better yet help him forget. I have had this feeling too many times to count. Your friend was much too young. It is nice you remember him with this poetry. Joyce [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (edited 04-26-2001).] |
