New Sky - Morning New Sky - Morning; forty-nine degrees. Cup of coffee - steaming in the coolness of the air, foggy breath, like pieces of soul leaving, testing the air - too cold, returning from whence it came. Morning glow - sun still shrouded by the horizon, birds just starting to sing; robins, cardinals, then jays and crows, mockingbirds, woodpeckers, titmice too. Treetops touched in gold, coffee almost gone - need another cup, don't want to move though; new sky - morning; nectar to ones soul. w. james beard, jr. © March 2000 [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 04-25-2001).] |

JWesley~ Everything sounds GOOD - except that 49 degrees ... Brrrr ! Now that one would take a pot of coffee ! Lovely imagery ... and LOVE all those birds ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
