Metal so solid, So cold Against my skin. It gives me great chills, Oh, but what a comfort it is. I jump at the sudden Realization that I can see myself in that mirror. That mirror that seemed To make me feel beautiful, Like you always called me. But now this reflection Portrays me as the ugly girl again; As you aren't here to call me beautiful; The ugly girl with the black tear stains, Damn makeup from the night before, And empty eyes, With a trembling hand Holding that tool that so often plays God. I clench my eyes shut As to not see the pain I feel so badly. The words 'forgive me' Play out across my lips. Those same lips That kissed you all those nights. The ones that your fingers grazed As you whispered to me in the dark. The same lips that told you time after time that I love you with all my soul. I think only of you And my fingers tighten. In that second before it was over, I prayed to the God I had believed never existed, Only glitterbugs in my world. I also saw my life in its happiest moments. In those moments was The first second I saw you The first second I caught your eye And the entire eternity of our first kiss. I see your face as it was the first time you whispered those words I love you. And that look of relief. In that last second Before the black, I see you And I hear you say it one last time, I love you. 'Sometimes we think it's holding on that makes us strong, but sometimes it's letting go' ~~Sam Ewing |

Whoa. Well done. Live for love. Without love, you don't live. |
