(REPOST FROM DARK PASSIONS) It’s the weekend And the mothers are out, The fathers are mowing the lawn And the kids are up early Playing up and about. I see some man assemble Around the liquor shop Talk about recession And how they wish For an extra job, I turn back to the kids For they seem to care less, But I hear one of them say, My dad just became unwaged. So I listen to the mothers, They go on talking about their hair, For they know, Their man will come through this And somehow make it to the end.
