Caught Souls April 25, 2001 Copyright 2001 Doug Pretorius Your holes fill with tears of those burning year after year With the wink of a glass eye looking into the meaning of your tries I ask what happened to your skinned up knees and you tell me how you fell into the arms a tree Do you love us both or just you or me? do you want more than we're able to be? Like tigers caged in a forgotten zoo fires raging on smoked out glue Keep on fighting and you just might find some reason to be this place to unwind Through the filling and feeding some special crew we all look hungrily at the pretty face of you The answer is hard to find in this toiled maze almost as hard as the questions I feel in your gaze If nothing is just as it always once was you really have to wonder about all the fuss The fires keep burning and searching for truth the brittle naked wings soar through and through This is the way we believed and were taught we're just waking up to the way our souls have been caught |
