Chill of Morning Virginia Salter chill of morning draws me into a ball clinging to body heat unable to break free to commence the day like when your love was thrown in my face ripped from my heart stealing hope out of our future yet today, as then, I reached for the heat the warmth from the Source to get on my feet put reason and rhyme back into my life to carry me forward lift me through strife to slowly extend my arms and my feet to aim for a goal to gain sure the sweet step into the sand new footprints to make as melody lifts me more fully awake ©April 14, 2000 |

Very sad but it slowly builds with courage to face the day! I like this last verse... "step into the sand new footprints to make as melody lifts me more fully awake" Nicely done! Emotions well displayed in words! The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up |

with the rising of the sun, the chill of morning becomes the warmth of day. . . excellent. . . ---------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
